PDF stands for Portable Document Format. Adobe Systems had created this file format which has now become the World’s most popular and convenient file format.

You’re gonna target a huge number of users in your niche if you create your eBook in this format.

2. ePub

ePub file format was first introduced to the world by International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) and is also a largely used eBook format.

This format basically uses the XML (XHTML), HTML and CSS technologies in order to format the contents of the book. ePub is supported by almost all the eBook reader devices and maximum of the smartphones and computers can also open this kind of file.

3. Mobi/AZW

First of all, a French eBook company, named Mobipacket had created this eBook format which grew very popular over time due to its protected Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology.

Later, in 2005, Amazon was supported by this file format which ended in 2011 and the Amazon launched very new it’s own file format called AZW. AZW is very similar to the .mobi eBook file formats.

If you have users of your eBook who are just normal Smartphone or PC user then you should create your eBook in the PDF format because this file format is supported by almost all kind of smart devices.

But if your eBook is a novel, story etc. then you should consider creating your eBooks in the other formats too i.e. ePub and Mobi. Because these 2 file formats are supported by the maximum of the eBook reader devices.
